Disney Math

I am a Disney teacher!!  My coworkers, students, and students' families know that I love Disney.  Maybe it is my Bitmoji, or maybe it is my Disney themed classroom, or maybe it is the amount of time I spend at Disney World and talk about Disney World.

One thing I love to do is add Disney magic to my classroom and lessons any chance I get.  A few years ago, I had the idea to use Disney Park maps to practice coordinate plane skills with my students.  At the time the only map I could find was a very old Magic Kingdom map, but I used it any way.   I have wanted to update it for a while and so this year I finally did it!  I created activity pages for all 4 parks at Disney World.

Since the maps look better printed in color, printing 100+ of each one is not a reality.  So, students had to share! I divided students into 4 groups and had them "park hop" to each park map.  Students had so much fun exploring the Disney World parks while naming points with their ordered pair, finding distance on the coordinate plane, and identifying reflections.  This activity created a learning opportunity they will remember forever!!
